Gimblett (b. 1935) is one of New Zealand’s most internationally prominent and successful living artists.[1] He moved to the US in 1962 and has lived in NY in a studio on the Bowery since the 1970s. He’s included in a show that just opened at the Guggenheim entitled The Third Man: American Artists Contemplate Asia, 1860–1989.
