  1. Reaction to the Seinfeld-Gates Microsoft ad has been: “is that supposed to be funny?” But as pointed out, when was the last time people were talking about a Microsoft ad? As advertising that is success. It reminds me of the very oblique Vista campaign fronted by Demetri Martin, which I like in spirit but probably did less for Microsoft than Seinfeld. Awareness or not, with Hodgman, Martin, and Seinfeld, the butt of the joke is Microsoft.
