  1. Promise, not change, was the most frequently used word in Obama’s acceptance speech. I didn’t notice that while watching, but seeing it in this world cloud reminded me of a book by Hannah Arendt called The Promise of Politics. It deals with western philosophy’s failure to account for human action in politics (Marx and more), also pointing out the disastrous effects of using force to establish or reinforce freedom. Political promise, as she sees it, is a hopeful struggle to share our mutually guaranted freedom. Interesting. (world cloud made by me using Wordle.net)
