  1. Webster Hall designated New York City Landmark. And rightly so for such a historic and ornamented venue. Theoretically at least, because I never want to see any concert there. My only exception, as emotions got the better of me, was for the 2006 Silver Jews tour. The venue is the classic threshold test for scalability. After months/years playing Bowery, a band can command a $20 ticket here (e.g., Jens Lekman). Maybe. My concert-going guidelines, as yet unproclamated, stipulate a below $20 ticket because the best shows are always - always - under $10. I make exception for one band: Gogol Bordello. Hutz is always worth it. (I’m in this crowd shot from the 2007 Terminal 5 show). He is the energy, hard work and sacrifice of the under $10 bushwick show, albeit on a massive scale and 6 days/week.ToddP, I’m heading for thee tonight.
